Every week I run into a few articles that I feel are especially valuable, so each Monday I plan to share some of the best with you, my readers. I hope you find them helpful.

Some of us really do love being a physician. Wealthy Doc has come up with 35 practical changes that made his life better. If you can find a few things on his list that you can do to make your life better, then the time you spent reading his article will pay many dividends. I did many of his suggestions during my career and had a great life as a surgeon. You can do it too.
We all know we need to make efforts to combat burn out. This week the Physician on FIRE had a guest post from Scott Cook who pinned 5 tips for beating physician burnout. Some of the factors that contribute to burnout are under our control. Hope at least one of these tips hits home for you.
Here is a read just for fun. Do you know the difference between staff of Hermes (aka the Caduceus) and the rod of Asclepius? Which one is the symbol of medicine and which is the symbol of commerce? I didn’t and neither did DocWife. But when she tried to pick out a cool present for her doctor husband, she found out the difference. Many of us are striving for financial independence. What happens when we reach it? Now, what should we spend our money on? Passive MD tells us we should spend our money on experiences. I agree with him. The memories of the fun things we do with our family far outweigh the memories of the stuff we buy them. More memories and less stuff.
We sometimes lose track of how good we have it here in America. The Frugal Physician immigrated to this country at a young age and got to see this country through different eyes. It is fascinating to see the 10 things that blew her mind about the American economy. I think you will be fascinated also.
